i know, i know
yes, i am aware that not many of my friends like tumblr. i believe i’ve had two people tell me directly they’re not fond of it, which is probably more people than have ever told me they liked my blog in my entire life, so that has to count for something.
when i started my tumblr, i had intented to write a big old post on why i liked it, and why, for me, it makes sense to post on it. but it can probably be summed up thusly in a recent conversation i had with stoller:
stoller: so why did you switch to tumblr?
catherine: oh i don’t know…everybody hates it
catherine: i was just not blogging as much, like fulltime blogging
catherine: and i was doing a lot of other stuff - flickring, twittering, delicious-ing
catherine: and i wanted to have that up there too
catherine: do you hate it too?
and he was kind enough to say he just liked reading my stuff, and didn’t care how, but he was probably lying.
basically, i just haven’t had for a long while, and am not sure when again i will have, the time to commit to regular full-length personal blogging. honestly, i was about to quit outta mind outta site. but eventually i decided i wasn’t ready to abandon the idea of having a personal blog, especially because i have so much other activity across the internet that i want to keep a record of.
so, yeah: it was either tumblr, or no blog at all. and me, SANS BLAUGE?!? i couldn’t really imagine that possibility. i do hope to be able to blog lots and lots again, and if i ever get back to that point i will probably move back to typepad. but for now, tumblr works for me.
